Big Bike

A couple of weeks ago Toys R Us was having a huge sale, so Michael just had to get Caleb a new bike. He really was outgrowing his Tigger bike and we felt it was time for him to try to learn riding without training wheels. As soon as we got home with the bike, we went to try it out with Grandma. Michael pushed Caleb a few times while coaching him on what to do, then as soon as he let go Caleb took off like he had been riding without training wheels all along. I was only suprised because Caleb had been so apprehensive. He had a blast! We are still working on stopping without falling, but he is doing great. Trevor inherited the Tigger bike from Caleb, but still requires a little more help. He likes it, but isn't used to using the pedals to move. Here Grandma is helping him get started.
Caleb would ride his bike really fast, then stop and land. He would jump away from bike and just grin from ear to ear.

Trevor is waiting on someone to make him go.

He eventually gave up and rode the big wheel instead. He just pushed off the ground to go.

Daddy had to show the boys a few tricks before we put the bike away.

Just posting this blog makes me realize how fast our two boys are growing. I am so proud and full of love for them. I want to cherish each moment and hold onto it forever.

Having fun with Zack

We were lucky enough to celebrate with our friend Alaina and her little boy Zack at his first birthday party. Zack is an adorable sweet little boy! Caleb and Trevor lucked out by getting to ride bikes and cars, and even a horse!
Alaina's dad custom made this little car for Zack. Since he wasn't quite ready to ride the boys took turns in it.

Trevor got to ride the horse first, then Caleb. The both rode together later. The LOVED it! Trevor loves horses in general. When Grandpa is watching John Wayne movies Trevor will just sit and watch with him to see the horses. Everytime we pray Trevor says, "and horsies too."

Thanks to Alaina and her parents for such a fun time for the kiddos!

Feeding the ducks

The other day we walked a little over a mile (Caleb rode his bike) to the duck ponds in Las Colinas. It was a little further than I thought, but it was worth it because the boys had such a good time feeding the ducks. Caleb would throw the bread right to the ducks.

A lot of Trevor's bread landed right by the shore, but it brought the ducks really close to us.

Caleb was so sweet to share some of his bread since Trevor threw his in all at once.

Caleb even got to take some pictures of the ducks himself.

When we got back home I let the boys put their feet in the water because we were tired and hot. I love days like this with the boys!

Babies

We recently got to visit with our newest niece/cousin Lydia. She is already 12 weeks old! She smiles all the time, and she is quite a talker. Caleb just loves babies, which is really good since we will have a new one soon. Everytime he sees Lydia he immediately wants to hold her.
We also got to visit with the newest addition of the Lewis family, Kylie Lane. She was born on Sept. 9th and weighed 5 pounds 11 ounces. In this picture she is 5 days old. Caleb and Trevor were mesmerized by her.

Kylie was holding on to Caleb's finger. He was in heaven.

Congratulation Mason and Amy and Brad and Kristen on your little bundles of joy. You guys have very sweet girls and we feel so lucky to be part of their lives.

Bittersweet

Last week we got together with our wonderful friends Rhett and Rebeca and their two boys Fielder and Cooper. We had a great dinner and enjoyed spending time with them. We were so glad to have a chance to see them before they move to Denver. We are happy for them because this is a great opportunity for Rhett's career and their family, but very sad to see them go. It will give us a very good reason to visit Colorado though! I only got a few pictures before my camera died. Rhett was helping Trevor dress up in Fielder's Spiderman costume. The boys all took turns and had a blast playing together.
I tried to get a picture of all the boys together, but all you can really see is Trevor (Spiderman) and Fielder in the back ground.
We love you Rhett and Rebecca. We love your precious boys too. We can't wait to come visit you as soon as you get settled in Denver!

First day of school

The boys had their first day of pre-school last Monday. They had their back packs, lunch bags, and were ready to go. They had a great first day!

Boating fun

Last weekend we went to Adam and Brandy's lake house and got to enjoy some time on their new boat. Caleb and Ava held hands as they jumped into the lake together. Caleb said the water was cold, but after a few minutes he really enjoyed it!
As soon as Caleb go in the water he swam right over to Daddy.

Sarah rode on the tube with Caleb and Ava. Ava had no fear, but Caleb was nervous to go fast at all. After Grandpa taught Caleb the hand signals for faster, slower, and stop, he was ready to go.

It was good family bonding time. We ran out of gas and the guys had to get us to shore by using skis, a rope, and strong swimming skills! Definitely a day that won't be forgotten! Thank you Adam and Brandy for having us out. We hope to have many more family experiences as our kiddos grow up together.

Farewell

On August 29th we had to say goodbye to our house. We FINALLY sold it after having it on the market for 5 months! We weren't in a big hurry to sell it, but after having to constantly leave the house (to show it) with two small children I was more than ready to be done with it. Not only did we have to leave our house, but we had a fish tank full of fish, a frog, and a crab that had to find a new home as well. We took all of our little friends to our favorite park and let them go in the pond. Below, Caleb looks so happy to take them to the pond, but as we were leaving he started missing his little friends immediately. There were plenty of tears, but after explaining how lucky his friends were to have a new home he felt better. Caleb was getting ready to say goodbye.

Our little friends.

The last farewell.

I know it doesn't seem like a big deal, but Caleb and Trevor LOVED these little creatures. They would stare at the fish tank every afternoon for 30 minutes or so and just watch the fish swim and stare at the frog jumping around. They helped feed them and take care of them. We will miss them and our house very much.
I wanted to get a picture of us leaving the house, but forgot in the midst of all the moving! Hopefully, the new owners won't mind if we go by one day for a photo op. We made many memories on Judy Court, and we will treasure it as our first family home. We are currently living with Mike and Libby. They have been such a blessing to us, and I hope they know how much we appreciate them. We are looking forward to finding our next house and making it a home.

Baby Meierhofer

We are so blessed to announce that we are having another baby. So far, this has been the easiest pregnancy yet! We have our next sonogram on September 24th. Michael wants to be surpised about the sex, but if I have anything to do with it we will find out!

Family trip to Minnesota

We took a family vacation this past summer to visit Michael's family in Minnesota. We all had a great time, and only wished we could stay longer! The plane ride wasn't too bad, but it was right in the middle of nap time! We thought maybe Trevor would take a little nap, but he wasn't having it.

We got to visit a lot of Michael's family. On our first night we had dinner with Grandpa Bill and Grandma Mavis.

The boys had a blast at Uncle Dave's lake. Caleb had no fear with his life jacket on.

Trevor made friends with sweet little Anna. He would wake up from nap and immediately ask , "Where's Anna?" He just loved her.

The boys at Dave's lake.

A lot of time was spent in Uncle Mike and Aunt Kathy's back yard. Trevor loved riding around with Daddy and Caleb would go all day on the four-wheeler, bike, and gator.

We spent a day with the Meierhofers at the lake. We had lots of food, fun, and time with family.

Caleb on the gator

I even got to ride the four-wheeler. Caleb was riding around with his friend Angel. She became his best friend for the week.
The boys had so much fun. They were entertained the entire time by the massive LaVoi and Meierhofer families. Caleb still asks if he can move to Minnesota! We hope to go back again soon.

Happy Birthday Caleb!!

Well, Caleb actually turned 5 a little over a month ago on July 1st. He had an awesome birthday, which was celebrated with friends, family, and lots of fun! He had his party at the Keller Pointe again this year. It's perfect for a summer birthday party and for Caleb who loves the water. Loving the water.
Cousin Ava, Caleb, and his friends Blake having fun.

Make a wish.

On Caleb's actual birthday we took him to Benihana. He loves to watch Mike and I cook, so we knew he would enjoy this lunch. He just stared at the cook as he prepared our meal.

Brotherly love.

Caleb's first attempt at chopsticks. The lady was so sweet to put them together with rubber bands, but it was still a challenge.
Grandpa got to join us too!

The last minute family picture. Trevor loved the food so much that he didn't want to leave. As we were walking away from our table he ran back to eat some more of his food!

I can't believe my baby is 5! Of course, he does not like for me to call him my baby! He is a big boy now, but will always remain my baby. He is growing up to be such a sweet, kind, fun loving young man. I am so proud that he is my son, and that God trusted us to be his parents. Your dad and I love you more than you know big boy Caleb!
