Growing up

Well, it seems August flew by, a new school year has started, and our two little boys are growing up SO FAST! It is amazing to go back and look at Caleb's baby pictures and see how much he has changed. We are already able to do that with Trevor's infant pictures as well.
We had a great summer. It always makes me so sad to go back to work, but the boys love Miss Debby and I have a job that I actually like, so it's not so bad.
Trevor and Caleb are getting to the point where they can really play together. It 's great because they chase each other around, roll cars around to each other, play ball, and just entertain each other. I have to keep a very close eye on them though, because before you know it Caleb has pushed Trevor down or Trevor is trying to steal Caleb's toy. It still is a lot of fun to see them together no matter what.
Here are some pictures of the last month (maybe now that we are back in a routine I will get better at posting again). We rode our bikes every chance we got. Besides, swimming that was Caleb's favorite summer activity. It was fun, but very hot!
While Grandma and Grandpa were out of town we stayed at their house, fed the dogs and played lots of piano. The boys would wake up in the morning and play a song for Mommy.

Caleb is trying to teach Trevor how to play.

As you can see, Trevor LOVES the piano.

We took the boys to the circus for the first time. It was a neat experience, but the entire family was tired so it wasn't the best adventure. Here are the boys. Even though you can't tell by the looks of their faces, it was quite entertaining.

Trevor loved the little hat that came with the cotton candy.

Caleb just loved the cotton candy! He ate almost the entire bag by himself, until Trevor caught a glimpse of it.

Trevor FINALLY got a haircut! It was so hard to give him the first official cut because I knew he would look so much bigger. I actually like it a lot. Michael wanted to keep letting it grow like a skater kid, but he was looking a bit shaggy.

Caleb and Trevor love the outdoors. If we are having a bad day or one of the boys is cranky, all we have to do is go outside and everything immediately gets better. I just wish it was a little bit cooler.

The boys love to eat dinner together every night. They make each other laugh endlessly.

Caleb loves his pizza.

Here is another picture of Trevor right after his haircut. Isn't he adorable?

Of course, the sandbox is always a hit with boys. I wish I had gotten the stand up one, but I think with boys they'd rather get right in the middle of all the dirt anyway!

Caleb drives the dump truck right over Trevor's back. Trevor doesn't mind as long as his big brother is playing with him.
The water hose is always nice to use after being in the sand box. Caleb likes to chase Trevor around with it, while Trevor runs and giggles the whole way.

We recently got together at Grandma and Grandpa's with cousin Ava and Uncle Adam. It's always a fun time when Caleb and Ava get to play together. Caleb gets a ride on Grandpa's back below.
Ava was so brave jumping off the diving board. Once she started, she just couldn't stop!
Caleb and Ava took a break to say CHEESE.

It was Caleb's turn to fly through the air. He was having a blast.

Trevor likes the water so much more now than he did at the beginning of the summer. He either likes to cling to the nearest person, or wants to try to brave the water on his own.

After the swimming fun we all went to Chuck E. Cheese for good times with the kids.

Everyone had fun.

Trevor and Caleb are banging on the drums we got from Panama. We are thinking of starting our own band.

Our two boys make life full and happy. We thank God for them everyday.

The Zoo

We took the boys to the zoo a few weeks ago and had a really great time. It was the first time for us to take Trevor and he loved it, and of course Caleb loved it too.The boys and Michael are looking at a wart hog and some other zoo animals.
Our tour guide (Caleb) looks at the map to find which animal we shall see next.

Trevor was hot and tired, but still having fun.

Caleb and Mommy petting a goat at the petting zoo.

Caleb and Trevor looking at the animals.

Trevor sure does love his daddy, and stealing his hat.

Face to face with a tiger.

Trevor fell asleep as soon as we got in the car.

Caleb refused his nap as usual!

4th of July

Happy fourth of July everyone. It was a great day. The night before we got to welcome Brad Lewis home from Iraq (so glad he made it home safely). We spent the morning relaxing at home, then we headed to grandma and grandpa's house. We ate some awesome fajitas, Michael swam with the boys, then we all went to watch fireworks in Bedford. It was a lot of fun! Below the boys are waving at Grandpa. Caleb is extremely happy from eating a blueberry smoothie that Uncle Mason made for everyone.
Kennedy and Trevor showing some patriotism.

Trevor wishing he was in the pool (but once he gets in all he wants to do is get back out, then in, then out, and so on.....

Caleb showing mom some love.

The boys and Daddy. What a great dad!

Grandma cuddling with sweet Trevor.

Caleb and Trevor coloring. Really Caleb coloring and Trevor running off with his markers as fast as he can. Trevor is a little trickster.

This is classic Trevor. He wants you to work for his smiles, but once he starts it's hard for him to stop. Grandpa has his number!

Here we are waiting on the fireworks to start. Trevor didn't make it for the 10:00 show, but Caleb did and he sure loved it.

Caleb watching the first of the fireworks.

We were so tired, but we really enjoyed the show.

God bless America!

HAPPY 4TH BIRTHDAY CALEB!!

Caleb Michael just celebrated his fourth birthday on July 1st! He had such a great day (or should I say week). Lots of family and friends came to his birthday party at the Keller Pointe for swimming and fun. He got all the presents a boy could want and more. Thank you to everyone for coming out and for making Caleb's day so special. The birthday boy arriving to his party. He loves the water and he couldn't wait to get in. We were all ready to swim outside, then the lightning struck across the sky so we had to go inside for the first few hours of Caleb's party.

Abby was one of Caleb's first friends to arrive. Can you tell he likes her (A LOT)?
Miss Debby came in and immediately started helping with Trevor. She is such a natural with the kids.
Kennedy and Kristen were having a blast in the water. Trevor was holding on for dear life. He's just not so sure about all the splashing.Grandma holding Trevor as he chills out in his shades. The birthday boy! He didn't want to waste any time taking pictures, but he made one acception for Mommy.
We finally got to go outside and the boys really LOVED it out there. Here's Trevor making his way through a tiny fountain. Look at him go. (love that belly)Caleb loves swimming with his daddy.
Cousin Ava and Caleb. They had a great time in the water. We are so glad Ava got to come even though her mommy is 9 months pregnant.
This picture shows just how much Caleb loves the water.
Caleb getting ready for cake and presents. Yay! "Look Abby, I got a new book!"
Everytime Caleb would open a present he would say, "Thank you so much, you are sooooo nice." He was talking in the sweetest voice I've ever heard. He was very grateful for everything.Looking cool in his new shades.

Daddy reading the b-day card.

"I wish for Mommy and Daddy and Trevor." That's really what he said! My sweetheart.

Mmmmm, I like cake.
Trevor loves his Uncle Dustin. Why wouldn't he? He looks so much like him!

This was the end to the birthday party. Caleb decided to watch one of his new movies before he drifted off to sleep.

Here's the morning of his actual birthday. He woke to a birthday song and his new kitchen from mommy and daddy (yes, boys like to cook too and it is blue and green).
Daddy and Caleb are putting together the kitchen. Caleb is a true Daddy's helper. Chef Caleb at your service. After playing with some of his new toys, we went to the Rainforest Cafe for lunch. Our family
Grandma and Grandpa came to lunch too (along with Mason, Amy, and Sarah). Right after lunch we went to Bailey's party (Caleb's friend from Ms. Debby's) and continued to celebrate.

Finally, home in his new Spiderman chair and Larryboy pj's. Caleb is deleriously happy. Happy fourth birthday Caleb. We can't beleive how much you've grown and how fast the years have flown. It's so fun to watch you grow. It is sometimes challenging, but the most rewarding thing in the world to be your parent. You have taught us so much about love, patience, kindness, being silly, having fun, making the most of a moment, and so much more. Your brother and you are the sweetest part of our lives. We love you mister man. You are a big boy now!
